What is holistic counselling?
Holistic counselling recognises the interconnectedness of all areas of life. The word holistic comes from the Greek word ‘holos’ which means whole. This approach takes into consideration all the aspects of your life, including physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual. For example, some people may present with a physical health problem and come to realise that there is an underlying emotional issue.
Increasingly, people are searching for practitioners who treat them as a whole person, rather than a set of symptoms or specific problem. Holistic approaches integrate scientific research and traditional knowledge to best meet the individual and unique needs of each person.
Counselling is tailored to your individual context, situation and needs. I work with you at your pace, valuing you as the expert on your life. Holistic counselling offers therapeutic techniques and strategies that encourage the brain and body’s inbuilt processes to elicit change and personal growth.
